  1 star for two simple facts. State-run liquor stores are terribly lacking in variety and the store clerks are usually apathetic jackasses who couldn't care less about not having a particular brand (despite being on the master list of approved brands to be sold at ABC stores). Likewise, I've lived in several different states over the years and have observed first-hand the higher quality of private liquor stores/sales. There is greater variety, better customer service and knowledgeable clerks who actually care - who aren't total geriatric curmudgeons.
